A few weeks ago, we took the family to the Central Florida Earth Day Festival at Lake Eola Park. It was a fun day, and I was thrilled to network with businesses that have cruelty free products and offer plant-based foods. We sampled lots of food while we were there, but I think my most favorite was the Georgia Peach Sloppy Joe’s from Dixie Dharma. I told them so soon after the event on their Facebook page. They wrote me back to tell me that event was their FIRST EVER! They totally nailed the sandwich, and now they’re open daily through the work week and are serving their delicious food to those lucky enough to stop by their truck in Orlando. I was bound and determined I was going to try to duplicate their sandwich at home, but without going back over there to buy another sandwich and deconstruct it to determine exactly what it contained, I decided to try my own version. I wanted to make some cole slaw, because no respectable southern girl will eat barbecue sloppy joes without a mound of cole slaw on top.
